🍀🍀🍀 Story time. We built this barn door that leads down to our basement to fit a sofa. The sofa didn’t fit through the door. The original door to the basement was not wide enough to fit our two-part sectional so we took the door off the hinges, took the door & the doorframe down & it still didn’t work. We widened the opening & started thinking of building this barn door. We did all of this & the sofa still didn’t fit. We’ve since let go of trying to get this sofa down the stairs as it’s the header problem for the basement ceiling, not the door’s fault. After all of that, we were still inspired to create this beautiful barn door & I absolutely love it. It’s the perfect welcome to our basement. We counted on the sofa. We took a chance on the door & it paid off! Half of the fun in life is taking chances & doing new things! If you don’t take the chance, you’ll never experience real growth! Take the inspired action & make your dreams a reality. For us, it was about building a door & finding the potential of what our house could be so we could start to manifest our genuine home. Sometimes you don’t realize how far you’ve come until you stop to take a look at where you are now. Celebrate the now. Celebrate the everyday moments of life. I’m choosing to celebrate how far my home has come from when we bought it as a house 3 years ago. It has seen some things, been through some things but come out the other side stronger. This #paintedtiles using a stencil on our fireplace hearth was the very first DIY project I did when we got moved in. Every time I look at it, it’s a reminder of the celebration we had that we had bought our first home and made our mark on it. Every day is a reason to celebrate.

It’s always nice to curl up into a warm, comfy, and made-up bed! My master bedroom has gone through quite the transformation since we first moved into this house. I am absolutely in love with my new platform bed from @westelm! And we just got this new comforter from Target, new sheets and pillow shams, and throw pillows all from the Hearth and Hand collection by Magnolia! Plus, this adorable bench at the end of my bed from @studiomcgee! Now I am coming for a new rug from @boutiquerugs!
